How it Works:

Link2SD creates a second partition from your SD card, and then uses that segment as an additional section of internal storage.

Link2SD copies apk-dalvik–cache (.dex), lib, and internal data files to this partition. The OS mounts it on boot. It then creates a symbolic connection in the original place.

The file structure is maintained, but the majority of data has been moved to an SD card.

Linking external and obb data folders for apps and games

Devices that emulate SD cards have external folders and obbb. These are not on the real SD card.

Link2SD copies these folders to either the first or second partitions of an external SD Card (depending upon your choice). The bind option in the mount command allows you to remount the file hierarchy from external SD Card while it's still accessible at its original location.

2. - Second partition for SD Card

There should be two partitions on an SD card, and one should be the primary.

To link your app's private files, you will need to use an alternative FAT file system (ext2 or ext3 or f2fs). The FAT file system (FAT16, FAT32, or exFAT), does not allow for UNIX permissions or file ownership and can cause a security breach of your app's private files.

Link2SD doesn't create the second partition. You will need to make it.
